Zonal finals at Mumbai. 15th & 16th December, 2008.


	The Finalists - Don Bosco, Matunga & St. Francis D’Assisi, Borivilli with scout Jamshid Nassiri , High Life Management CEO Saurav Chatterjee and Chief Guest, Steven Dias (Vice Captain, India Football Team and FPA representative)		Mumbai Champions of the Tata Tea Jaago Re Soccer Stars ‘09 - Don Bosco, Matunga.

		The zonal finals of Tata Tea Jaago Re Soccer Stars was held in Mumbai on December 15 and 16 at Cooperage Stadium, Maharishi Karve Road.

		More than 52 teams participated in the two day tournament fighting to win the zonal finals, that will take them to the national finals to be held in Kolkata mid next year.

		Don Bosco School emerged as winners defeating St.Francis D’assisi, Borivili by 3 goals – 0. This will take them to the national finals to be held in Kolkata mid next year.

The Chosen Three - Rickin Dang, Harold Fernandes & Sunny V. Thakur – Chosen for training in National Camp

Some of the players who came to lime light during these two days were

		Elton Quadros from St.Francis D’assisi, Borivili was recognized as Mumbai’s most valuable player.

		Sachin Deepak Meher of SUP Waghe School, Colaba was declared the best goalkeeper.

		Sunny V Thakur from St.Francis D’assisi, Borivili came out as the highest goal scorer during the zonal matches.

Ricky Dang, Harold Fernandez (From Don Bosco School, Matunga) and Sunny V Thakur (From St.Francis D’assisi, Borivili) were selected from Mumbai for coaching by Arsenal coaches at Kolkata.


		Jamshid Nassiri, Head Scout, observed the tournament for the most promising kid showing exceptional talent in the game.
